Enjoy those favorite songs from the forties, fifties and sixties sung by the outstanding voices of the Carolinas. John Fowler, a favorite of the Academy, and his Students return again for a heartwarming performance. Members and their guests will enjoy this program in an informal candlelight setting following dinner..

A Spiritual Journey with Jason McKinney
and Sophia Pavlenko

Trinity United Methodist Church

Come join us for a night highlighting the great African American Spirituals interpreted in the always mesmerizing style of Jason McKinney. The program also contains an art song set by Vaughn Williams, arias from Mozart's Magic Flute and Don Giovanni, and Puccini's La Boheme. The second half of the concert also highlights the two magnificent baritone arias from Pavlenko's The Parables. Jason McKinney is quite possibly North Carolina's finest bass-baritone. Active on the circuit today, he is in constant demand around the world. He also just happens to be one of the Academy's favorite performers! Sophia will support the evening as accompanist on the Rachmaninoff Steinway. This will be an evening that you will always remember. Don't miss it!

Check with the Academy for a final date and time for our very own Trinity Music Academy Orchestra concert during the last week of student recitals.  Now 48 members strong, the TMA Orchestra boasts full standard string, woodwind, brass, and percussion sections along with oboe, bassoon, French horn, and harp.  Our Orchestra has now moved up to being a semi-professional group playing a wide range of music.  Bring your friends; bring the kids; bring everybody for a concert that is as much a “get together” as it is a concert!
